On May XX, 2008 Debbie Weinstein announced the 2008 OSG Ticket Promotion Program that works to benefit Ottawa Big Brothers and Big Sisters, helping children in need.
"We are encouraging corporations to purchase blocks of tickets and to donate them to Ottawa Big Brothers, Big Sisters."
Tickets to the Opening Ceremonies Wednesday, August 13 are each $10.00 and an all-event admission ticket to the sports events is also $10.00
Companies who may wish to be involved as sponsors or contributors to the Games can do so by purchasing tickets that will then be donated to the Ottawa Big Brothers Big Sisters organization.
All contributing companies will be listed in the Official Program of the Games, and on our website
Debbie made this a personal invitation to contribute to the Games in this fashion.

“Big Brothers Big Sisters Ottawa is the premier mentoring agency in Ottawa providing one-to-one mentoring programs for children in need of a positive role model. We are the 4th largest agency in Canada and 3rd largest in Ontario. We are unique in that volunteers deliver our service supported by highly skilled and trained professional staff. Over 1100 children participated in our programs in 2007.
We are fortunate to receive free tickets to events from generous corporate sponsors. We know that matches last longer when supported by agency organized activities and tickets to corporately sponsored events. Many of our Littles would not be able to experience attending a live hockey game, a theatre production or a movie without this corporate generosity. The chance to attend an event of the scope as the Summer Games is tremendous and for many, a once in a lifetime opportunity and one that may influence a Little to get involved in sport.
”A huge thank you to all the corporate sponsors for their continuing generosity to the children and youth of Ottawa.

The Games are serviced by a large volunteer group of medical and paramedical individuals who are present at each competition site and also in the three Athlete Villages. The Medical Team for the 2008 Ontario Summer Games is headed up by the Chief Medical Officer Dr. Taryn Taylor. The Chief Therapist for the Games is Bruce Marshall.
When she is not volunteering to assist with events like the Ontario Summer Games, Dr. Taylor, a sports medicine specialist, works on a rotation basis, out of three of the major sport medicine clinics in Ottawa: the Carleton Sports Medicine Clinic located at Carleton University; the Palladium Sport Medicine Clinic located in Scotiabank Place (home of the Ottawa Senators) and thirdly, at the Medical Team Clinic in Kanata.
Dr. Taylor has worked with athletes from the playground level through to Olympians, she was also Assistant CMO at the 2006 Games and we are incredibly fortunate to have her donating her time to head up the medical mission for the 2008 Ontario Summer Games.
Our Chief Therapist (CT) is Bruce Marshall. Bruce works out of the Carleton University Ice Palace, the new double ice pad complex recently completed on campus at Carleton University. Bruce is responsible for ensuring Carleton University’s varsity athletes are well looked after from an injury prevention and injury rehabilitation perspective. Carleton’s varsity athletes, many who have won C.I.S. championships, have done so with the care and treatment undertaken by Bruce Marshall and his clinic staff. Bruce was the CT for the 2006 Ontario Summer Games and we are extremely pleased to have Bruce return to provide his leadership again as Chief Therapist for the 2008 Games.
Other volunteers on the Medical Team include Physicians, Physiotherapists, Athletic Therapists, Nurses, certified First Aiders, Kinesiologists, and CPR trained individuals.
Excellent medical service for all athletes, coaches, team staff, etc. at the Games, is provided by members of the Canadian Academy of Sport Medicine, Sport Physiotherapy Canada, the Canadian Athletic Therapists Association and St. John's Ambulance.
We thank each association for their valued volunteer contribution to the success of the 2008 Ontario Summer Games.
