Description
As and When Required contracts in Ottawa for an Intermediate Instructional Designer to design and develop eLearning Training.
Responsibilities
Design, document and develop eLearning training modules, incorporating theories of adult learning, ISD theories (Instructional Systems Design), interactive training techniques, assessment and practicum exercises according to the training needs of the intended audience.
Interview and collaborate with SMEs (Subject Matter Experts) to gather source content and build authentic learning scenarios.
Skills and Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years experience designing and developing eLearning-based curriculum.
- A degree or diploma in Instructional Design, Adult Education, or Curriculum Development, or a combination of experience working as an Instructional Designer with related formal training. A Masters degree in Education, with graduate level courses in instructional design, evaluation, adult education, and educational technology is preferred.
- Practical applied knowledge of cognitive, pedagogical, and adult learning theory and instructional design.
- Mastery of the English language, both oral and written, with the ability to produce error free deliverables that demonstrate excellent grammar, style, and presentation.
- Expert knowledge of and solid experience using rapid eLearning development tools, such as Captivate.
- Experience implementing SCORM compliant modules.
- Ability to design and administer Learning Management Systems (LMS) and Learning Content Management Systems (LCMS).
- Ability to thrive in a diverse, fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
- Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and problem solving skills, including the ability to deal with situations where information is difficult to obtain, complex or ambiguous.
