Web Architect (Usability Researcher)

Location: NCR - Ottawa ON Canada

Job Description

Our federal government client has a requirement for Capacity-on-Demand Informatics Professional Services to support their IM/IT applications, tools and infrastructure in order to facilitate the delivery of its regulatory and policy mandate. This contract will source multiple professional services categories at all experience levels across several technology platforms including Web Architect.

Tasks authorizations will be issued to iFathom to begin to provide these services on fairly short notice so we are currently pre-qualifying candidates who may be interested in such contracts over the next few years.  Submit your resume and, should your skills and experience be a match to our client's needs, you will be contacted with details and a specific list of requirements.

Job Requirements


  • Designing, leading, coordinating and conducting usability testing

  • Designing and conducting the following:

    • User needs analysis;

    • task analysis; and

    • User profiling or personas

  • Creating usability test reports that include the following:

    • identify problems and their nature;

    • rank them in terms of severity; and

    • provide recommendations on what to fix.

  • Presenting research results and theory, or training, to a variety of stakeholders across different organizational levels

  • Researching problems in the field of human factors or usability

  • Designing, leading, coordinating and conducting research techniques, including at least one of the following:

    • Focus groups,

    • Interviews,

    • Surveys, or

    • Experimental research.

  • Working with Usability or User Interface (UI) designers and developers

  • Uncovering aspects of the user model and their relationship to the User Interface (UI) and business process
