Consolidated Maintenance Information System (CMIS) and Consolidated Maintenance Information System - Ship (CMIS-S)
In the mid - 1990s, fleet data managers for the Canadian Navy recognized the need to automate the tracking and reporting of maintenance against registered equipment on all large naval ship classes.
iFathom was selected to design, develop and deploy a solution for this requirement. The result was the Consolidated Maintenance Information System (CMIS) and Consolidated Maintenance Information System - Ship (CMIS-S) applications.
The Consolidated Maintenance Information System (CMIS) is a large NDHQ-based application which provides a front-end for DNDs fleet configuration management and maintenance database.
The Consolidated Maintenance Information System - Ship (CMIS-S) is a large and complex n-tier ship-based application which interfaces with CMIS and is used as a tracking and management tool for all naval equipment maintenance performed on Canadian naval ships.
Thanks to iFathom's expertise and dedication, the design, development, deployment and support of the CMIS and CMIS-S applications has resulted in the seamless flow of reliable and timely maintenance data from ship to repair facility to headquarters and back again.
