Registration Authentication Systems
In response to the need for a web-based administration system for the 2006 Ontario Summer Games, hosted by Ottawa, the Director of Information Technology for the Games and iFathom President, Leo Tardioli, set out to develop a robust, intuitive, dependable and secure IT solution.
Mr. Tardioli's team at iFathom successfully delivered Sports EASe, an application to aid in the administration and management of the large multi-sport, multi-venue event.
The solution easily handled the online registration and accreditation of 3000 athletes, managers and coaches, as well as over 800 volunteers and 200 officials. The web-based system allowed online viewing of schedules, standings, and results through the OSG website.
Data collected and reports generated by the system aided in the logistical planning and management (transportation, accommodation, etc.), and the scheduling of the event, which involved 20 different sports and 30 different venues.
The 2006 Games were a great success, and indeed led to the award of the 2008 Games to Ottawa. The 2008 Games were also an outstanding success.
According to the Games Organizing Committee, as well as different user groups, the software used for the Games made a major contribution to the smooth and successful management of the event.
